Optical Distributer Group, a wholesale distributer of contact lenses, had recently added Digital Eye Lab to the serives and products they offer. Digital Eye Lab uses computer-driven equipment to create progressive bi-focal lenses for glasses, and is the first of its kind in the United States.

ODG needed to ensure that the lab would be fuinctional, even when faced with a power-outage. They turned to RDP to create a solution to this problem. We responded by procuring a backup power generator and managing the installation from start to finish, a project that required several important steps.

We obtained permission from Mack-Cali to begin construction and lay the concrete slab on which the generator would eventually sit (right) and ordered the custom-built generator from the manufacturer. RDP spear-headed the negotiations with the town of Hawthorne and attended all town meetings and hearings on the matter.

On November 5th of 2007, after all governmental hurdles were tackled, the generator was delivered and installed. The following pictures document the process.

1. The concrete slab is in place, awaiting delivery of the generator

2. The generator is delivered on flatbed delivery truck

3. The generator is lifted via crane from the truck

5. The generator is installed and ready for fuel
